FX is a television network currently owned by The Walt Disney Company and previously by 21st Century Fox (from 2013-2019). Its name is either an acronym from 20th Century Fox, the main network, Fox or Fox eXtended (to symbolize its purpose to have the 20th Century Fox name exist beyond the film and television production company and broadcast network). It was launched in 1994. It has broadcast some films from Paramount Pictures, its corresponding film production company, 20th Century Fox (which is currently named 20th Century Studios) and various other studios.
