Blockbuster was a former asset owned by the 1st Viacom through 1994-2004. Blockbuster was a home movie and video game rental service, you could either rent these at stores or the website. In 2004, Blockbuster had over 9,000 stores and employed over 80,000 people. Blockbuster's huge success even made it overseas.

However, Blockbuster would later fall into a sharp decline due to poor leadership and the rise of Netflix, Redbox, and video-on-demand services. This led to brutal and fierce competition. In 2010, Blockbuster filed for bankruptcy which led to thousands of stores being closed. In 2011, the remaining stores were brought by Dish Network. As of today, only one store remains open independently. It is located in Bend, Oregon.
